Are you ready to take your stone setting to the next level?
In this class we will be looking at professional techniques for creating fields of Pavé from scratch. This attractive style of setting is very popular and will not only improve your fine stone setting skills, but also really hone your skills and accuracy with both pendant motors and Scorpers. We will talk about how to lay out the stones to form neat even rows and patterns with the correct tolerances for setting. Drilling and opening holes to fit the stones and raising grains to secure the stones in place, bright cutting boarders and finishing.
We will be using traditional hand tools and techniques, the advantage of this is not only that will it strengthen your skills and understanding of the process but you can then go and practice and prefect your skills further using affordable equipment.
By the end of the day you will have set a full field of Pavé using traditional tools and techniques, setting your stones into silver rings provided on the day.
These techniques can then be applied to a multitude of jewellery designs to pave your pieces in fine diamonds or other stones in order to create beautiful stone covered pieces.
All materials and tools for the class will be provided on the day with the option to order specialist tools after the class if required.
